How to pay for Dropbox

Dropbox plans, personal or team billing and payment confirmation.

Updated

Before paying

Check that the service is available to your account and accepts your chosen card. Universal and Universal+ differ in fees and issuing country; the merchant may apply its own restrictions.

Check the card balance allowing for fees, conversion and verification charges. Use Card Details for the number, expiry and CVV, and SafePay Billing for the holder name and address. Keep the service profile information accurate.

Complete checkout

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com and check the intended personal account or team. Open plan options or current billing.
  2. Choose storage, terms and billing period. For a team, check license count and administrator permissions.
  3. Add the card using SafePay card and billing details, check the total and confirm the purchase.

Optional purchase in the iPhone app

If the official Dropbox iPhone app offers an Apple in-app purchase for the personal or family plan you need, sign in to the account that owns the files and review the available upgrade. Use an eligible payment method saved under Apple Account → Payment & Shipping, check Apple’s purchase sheet and verify that the storage plan was added to the intended Dropbox account.

Dropbox business and team subscriptions and administrator-controlled billing may require the website and appropriate account permissions. An App Store purchase is not a general method for upgrading any business plan. Review the existing billing channel before buying again.

After confirmation

Check the plan, available storage and receipt in Dropbox. Apple, Google Play or reseller subscriptions are managed through that channel. Manual invoicing has a different process; do not create another paid account to resolve an existing charge.

If a 3D Secure request appears, complete the confirmation shown in SafePay, then return to the merchant. Do not pay again while the result is pending. For an error, keep its text, time and amount.
