How to add or check a payment method
Purchases from the App Store, iCloud+ and Apple Music are billed through Apple Account payment methods. This is separate from Apple Pay in the Wallet app. If your card cannot be added or the subscription is declined, check the account and the actual eligibility before trying again.
- On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping and sign in if prompted.
- Check the Apple Account selected for purchases. Choose Add Payment Method or open an existing method to review it.
- Enter the eligible SafePay card number, expiration date and CVV from Card Details, plus the billing information shown in SafePay Billing. Fill in accurate personal information required by Apple.
- Save the method and complete the verification method actually offered by Apple or the issuer.
- If multiple methods are saved, check their order and whether there is an unpaid balance or an older rejected card affecting the purchase.
Adding a card to Wallet does not make it an Apple Account billing method.
Why Apple may prevent a country or region change
Apple may require you to resolve existing account commitments before changing the country or region. Check:
- Any remaining Apple Account balance (not the SafePay card balance).
- Active subscriptions that must be cancelled and may need to reach the end of their paid period.
- Pending pre-orders, movie rentals, unresolved purchases and refund processing.
- Family Sharing membership or other account restrictions.
- Whether the intended country and payment method are permitted for your real account situation under Apple’s rules.
A country change may alter available apps, media, subscriptions and prices. Do not change your country solely because the card was issued abroad, and do not use a false billing or residential address.
If a card is rejected
Check that you are editing Payment & Shipping, not only Wallet; confirm card status and available card funds; recheck the exact SafePay Billing fields; review any outstanding Apple charge and country-specific payment method requirement. If Apple shows a reason or case number, save it.
A successfully saved card does not guarantee that every subscription or app supports your region and offer. If the in-app purchase uses another Apple Account or a different billing channel, check that channel separately.
Where to get help
For Apple Account country, purchase availability and billing-profile rules, follow Apple’s official instructions or contact Apple Support. For a SafePay card or issuer verification error, send SafePay Support the card type, time and error message, without the full card number, CVV or one-time codes.
